METROPOLITAN SOUTH FLORIDA FISHING TOURNAMENT THROUGH MAY 11

FLORIDA KEYS - Anglers throughout South Florida are invited to fish the flats offshore, inshore and freshwater in the 68th annual Metropolitan South Florida Fishing Tournament, running until midnight on May 11, 2003.

With no entry fee and no pre-registration requirements, the Met promotes catch-and-release fishing, conservation and education while offering residents and visitors a chance to compete for major awards and an opportunity to win plaques, trophies and a coveted master angler jacket.

Grand master and master angler contenders must first catch and release several designated species on specified tackle to qualify. They are then required to make several superior catches, each in a separate division, depending on the specific master angler award they seek.

Fishing boundaries include all fresh and salt waters of the following South Florida counties: Broward, Collier, Miami-Dade, Glades, Hendry, Lee, Martin, Monroe, Palm Beach, Okeechobee and St. Lucie. Tournament boundaries also include Cat Cay and Bimini.

For more information, call Mary Kay Dudas at (305) 233-5535 or (305) 300-6547, write to P.O. Box 140850, Coral Gables, FL 33114, or visit www.met-fish.org.
